The High Council of Magic: An Educational Game

 

Built on a Model United Nations platform, this game teaches students to negotiate, persuade, and plan for the future. Middle school aged students and up will enjoy a complex political weave of intrigue and allegiances.

Fourteen unique nations.

With developed backstories, special abilities, and a web economic and existential needs, students are motivated to not only understand the nation they represent, but to take on its fantastic personality. This act of roleplaying engages students in the process of policymaking- an aspect that traditional Model UN simulations may lack.

Understand

Students are given a scenario that affects all of their nations. They are tasked to explore their nation’s history and abilities in pursuit of a solution that will help all.

Collaborate

By trading resources and political favors, the delegates of each nation begin hammering out the details. Allies and enemies are made, but students are always reminded that peace and progress are the greatest goals of their assembly.

Solve

With the trading and planning done, all that remains is coming to consensus. The students present and vote on their hard-fought resolutions and save the day.
